August 27 is your unique chance to be a part of another iconic long table dinner in the middle of Copenhagen, when Copenhagen Cooking and TorvehallerneKBH and "Zürich meets Copenhagen" invite you to The Great Sunday lunch "Around the Market".

Vendersgade connects Copenhagen Cooking's festival square by Israels Plads and TorvehallerneKBH, is the framework for enjoyable, unpretentious and tasteful long table lunch. Get comfortable and inspired on this gastronomic circuit in the manifold, culinary univers, that TorvehallerneKBH has to offer. Two talented chefs from Zurich will be part of the Great Sunday Lunch:

Andreas Handke runs Bistro Babette in Zurich offering responsible gastronomy. Alongside the restaurant he also works to develop the talents of tomorrow through teaching at the gastronomy school. He is a member of the social gastronomy movement and co-initiator of GastroFutura, a network of chefs and gastronomes working for a more sustainable gastronomy. They take a 360 degree angle on sustainability and is focused on social, ecological and economic aspects.

Sara Hochuli is a Swiss pastry chef, cake artist and owner of the tea house Café Miyuko. With a background as graphic designer and illustrator her work has always been inspired by the colourful Japanese manga world. Being a Slow Food chef alliance member, the cooperation with small and fair producers has always been an important part of her work in gastronomy.

  • La Boca: Ox empanada with potatoes and green olives
  • Hallernes Smørrebrød: Smørrebrød with new Danish potatoes, fried and raw onions, mayonnaise, chives, thyme & salmon salad with rye bred chops, peas and trout roe
  • Ma Poule: Two quail drumsticks with a summery potato salad French style
  • Den Grønne Kutter: Grilles hake with salat
  • Andreas Handke: Swiss moutain poatoes, Alp cheese and condiments
  • GRØD: Organic "rødgrød" with creme fraiche 50% from Arla Unika
  • Summerbird & Coffee Collective: Chocolate & coffee
  • Sarah Hochuli: "Matcha Potato Japonais" - Japanese-inspired confection dessert à la Café Miyuko.

In case of bad weather the lunch will be moved into to tents. Included in the price is also one of our festival beers. The beer can be exchanged for a water on the day.
